One Weekend
It's one thing to have an idea, another to get it onto paper, and another thing entirely to watch it leave your hands and go home with someone who wanted it.

This was the view I had for most of this weekend. If you've been following along, you already know that Jenn and I spent the weekend at Calgary CatFest selling Newton's first book, "An Ode To Myself," and his second, debuting that weekend, "A Visit From Krampus."
By all accounts it was a roaring success. Smiles were had, books were sold, doodles were doodled.
It was very gratifying to see the smiles on people's faces when they picked up Jenn's – er, Newton's – book and started reading and flipping pages. It is one thing to think of an idea, another entirely to put that idea to paper, and another still to see it in someone's hands. Newton would be proud of his mom and how dutifully she has cared for his work.
And for my small part in all of this, I got to shape and hold a new book, watch Jenn sign it, and send it on its way to its forever home.
Well, and I got to sneak in a "Stoopid Stick Cat™" or two, which, in typical fashion, became less stick-like as the weekend wore on.
