Alberta Pasta
Tonight's answer to the never-ending dinner question is a pasta-carb extravaganza with salad and peas. Why peas? I dunno. I love them, and I throw them into whatever will hold still.

There is something delightful about garlic bread and fresh pasta. That's what's on the menu tonight. Yes, the never-ending daily question of what are we eating for dinner tonight — it has been decided: tonight is a pasta-carb extravaganza with super salad and peas. Why peas? I dunno. I just love them, and I love to throw them in whatever I can.
Steak and Onion over Brown Rice (Dargie Delight™)? Peas. Curry? Add peas. Peanut butter sandwich? Peas. No. Nope. I went too far.
Tonight is a tomato-basil sauce from a new Alberta company called The Savory Spoon Foods, which I discovered by reading packaging at the store. Are they new? I don't know. They're new to me, and in an effort to spend more of my money on local businesses, I found them. I'll let you know how it goes, but I'm excited. New food. New flavours. New company.
I'm here for it.

I guess one good thing you can say about this ridiculous-trade-tariff-war-of-stupidity is that my new favourite hobby is reading the packaging.
My stomach is rumbling and I forgot to get fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons, and peppers for the salad. Maybe some nuts to toss in there too, for that extra hit of crunch. This could be why I like peas in stuff. Just that little extra crispiness in the mouth. Less goosh, more crunch.
